VFR Visitors' Day at Deutsche Flugsicherung: Insights into the world of air traffic control

DFS Deutsche Flugsicherung GmbH is organising a VFR Visitors' Day on 15 March 2025, which is aimed specifically at pilots who fly according to visual flight rules (VFR). This event will take place on the DFS campus in Langen, Hesse, and offers an exclusive opportunity to get to know the work of air traffic control at close quarters.

Procedure and programme

The visitor day includes one-hour guided tourswhich in half-hour intervals between 9:30 am and 3:00 pm start. During the tour, the Operating rooms of the flight information service (FIS) and the aeronautical information service (AIS-C) in groups. This is followed by a visit to the Lobby of the DFS corporate headquarters the opportunity to participate in Information stands FIS and AIS to talk to experts and exchange views on current developments.

Registration and conditions of participation

The Registration has been open since 3 March 2025 via the official website of the DFS German Air Navigation Services possible. Important to note:

Individual registrations required (no group registrations)
Minimum age: 14 years
Identity card or passport required
Punctual appearance recommended (at least 30 minutes before the start of the tour)

All tours start on time and prior registration is mandatory.


What does the Flight Information Service (FIS) do?

The Flight Information Service (FIS) plays an essential role in aviation. It supports VFR pilots with important information during the flightto create a Safe and smooth implementation to ensure that
