Background to the measure

Military flight exercises require controlled airspacesto minimise risks to civil aviation. Such exclusion zones are regularly used for Fighter jet exercises, tactical air operations or other Bundeswehr manoeuvres set up. The Temporary blocking serves the Flight safety and trouble-free operation of the exercises.

DFS German Air Navigation Services and the air force authorities advise all pilots and airlinesbefore planned flights to find out about current Notams (Notice to Airmen) in order to avoid unexpected airspace restrictions.
