The I'MSAFE checklist is an important tool for pilots to assess their personal fitness to fly before each flight. It covers six key areas: Illness, Medication, Stress, Alcohol Consumption, Fatigue and Emotion.

This checklist helps pilots decide if they are fit enough to fly and covers aspects such as feeling ill, medication influences, stress levels, alcohol consumption in the last 24 hours, adequate rest and emotional stability. In addition, the importance of adequate nutrition and hydration is emphasised in order to remain efficient during the flight. The I'MSAFE checklist serves as a guide to ensure that pilots only fly when they are truly fit and promotes a strong safety culture in aviation.
