These airspaces are regularly used for training missions, in particular for:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Air combat exercises<\/strong> of fighter jets<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Tactical manoeuvres<\/strong> for air refuelling<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Scenarios for electronic warfare<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During activation <strong>no civilian flights<\/strong> permitted, except for specially authorised operational flights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Which aircraft are affected?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The following are affected by the closure <strong>all civil aircraft<\/strong>including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Private and business aircraft<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Gliders<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Microlight aircraft<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Drones and other unmanned aerial systems<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Exceptions apply exclusively to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Military aircraft<\/strong>participating in the exercise<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>State aircraft<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Police and rescue service flights<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Ambulance flights<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Disaster relief flights<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Transit authorisations are <strong>not issued<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What does this change mean for air traffic?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For civil pilots and airlines, the extension of the use of these airspaces in terms of time means a <strong>Increased planning requirements<\/strong>. It is strongly recommended, <strong>check the current NOTAMs (Notice to Airmen) before a planned flight<\/strong>to avoid unintentional offences against the blocking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Conclusion<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The temporary extension of the <strong>ED-R 201A and ED-R 301A<\/strong> on <strong>4 April 2025<\/strong> is a measure for the realisation of military air force exercises and requires <strong>Strict compliance by civil aviation<\/strong>.
